The plan didn't quite work out on Saturday. Maypole Lass was found out by the softer going and could only finish fourth in the Listed Fillies Juvenile Hurdle. Settled in rear, Paddy hoped that the race would fall apart to some extent in front of him, and we could pick up some valuable black type, but it was not to be. She did win nearly a grand for her owner, and has come to no harm so all was not lost!! She will be out again towards the end of the month. Yesterday Coffers was a little disappointing in Warwick, back to the drawing board with him. Colebrooke has an entry in Bangor On Dee on Friday, and has been entered in Lingfield and Carlisle on Saturday and Sunday. We will choose the best option for him. San Telm who schooled so well over fences last week, back it up with a very good piece of work on Saturday, and will have an entry in Fakenham next week - he seems back in great order. Smart Exit will have entries later this month - Uttoxeter (19th) and Towcester (20th). Benefit Cut is back cantering and feels in great order - I think he thinks he is ready to run!! He will be out again in about 3 weeks, and will be making his chasing debut. The 3 yr old Tobougg filly is cantering away and doing it very easily. She is having a good buck and a kick in the process and is proving to be a very balanced and very likeable young lady!! Shares are still available, and from what we see at the moment she could well be a good investment!! Dawn Commander (top right) has settled in really well, and is being built up in preparation for doing some stronger work in a few weeks time. We like what we see. I made the trip to Warwick yesterday, not just to see Stuart lead up (bottom right), but to cast my eye over a possible new recruit - unfortunately it didn't pass muster, but there is another avenue which I will pursue. Fingers crossed it will not be long before we have another head over a door!
