Fakenham is one of our favourite tracks - where the yard have plenty of success, and tomorrow San Telm, who has been a winner around there over hurdles, makes the trip for his second chase start. His chasing debut a month ago in Uttoxeter could hardly be heralded a success, but he returned that evening with a pretty serious bout of colic, which would explain his poor performance and his ponderous jumping. He has been given plenty of time to recover, and his schooling at home has been electric, so with just the six runners he could quite well add to our impressive strike rate at the track. Smart Exit will go to Towcester on Thursday, and is in good form. Benefit Cut will be scoped tomorrow before he is asked to quicken up again. he is over his muscle strain, and appears in rude health. He will should be making his chasing debut between Christmas and the New Year. Colebrooke is fine after his run on Saturday. He requires a bit (lot) of help from the handicapper. He is only small, and it is a big ask for him to carry lumps of weight on his favoured softer surface against real big chasing types. When he gets down to around 120 again he will be competitive. Carolina Wren and Ereyna are likely to take each other on in the mares race in Ludlow on Wednesday. I was very imprerssed with the 3 yr old filly on Saturday. She is coming along very nicely and shares are still available!! 07909 518902
