Enough with the weather!! Will it ever stop raining? But, saying that, I suppose it will only be a matter of days after it does cease pouring down that we are all bemoaning the fact that the ground has gone too quick!! Typical farmer - never happy - reminds me of the old joke - What's the difference between a jet engine and a farmer? - The jet engine stops whining when it gets to the Caribbean!! Colebrooke got his brace of entries on Saturday. Back over hurdles, and with a newly assessed hurdle mark of 120 (chase mark down 3 to 124 - DOWN 3!! After finishing last and being pulled up the last twice?????), we threw him in the deep end in Sandown, but the trip and track both suit, so if he can get away with a clear round who knows? May just pick up a bit of very decent prizemoney! A very light weight in heavy ground will help the cause. We will just have to wait and see where Mr Nicholls decides to run Saphir Du Rheu. If he chooses Sandown Colebrooke will be forced out of the bottom of the weights by some margin so we would have to look at Wetherby! If SDR takes up his engagement in the Welsh Champion Hurdle, C would be a mere 1lb out of the weights at worst, so he would have a crack! Other movers in the handicap ranks this week are: Smart Exit up 5lbs to 104 which looks a bit steep for a neck win. He has been beaten off of these marks in the past, but is in top form and hopefully he can prove me wrong and go close off this new mark next time. San Telm has been left on 124 over hurdles (down 2 over fences after one UR), which is a nice mark to go to war with in a nice handicap!
