Thursday 13 February

Todays meeting in Leicester has passed it's morning inspection, so racing goes ahead. Benefit Cut is a short price in the handicap chase, but second favourite Cloudy Bob has a big turn around at the weights and could give him a bit to think about!! This is BC's third chase start and will qualify him for a couple of handicaps at the Cheltenham Festival, and leave him nearly 4 weeks to be prepared for it! Tomorrows meeting in Sandown is off, along with FFos Llas on Sunday, so the BHA have put on another jumpers bumper card in Kempton on Sunday. With Doncaster soft at the moment we have decided to run Dawn Commander in Kempton rather than over hurdles in Doncaster, particularly as they have put on a couple of 2m 2f races which should suit him down to the ground!! San Telm will have an entry in Doncaster next Wednesday in case Haydock is lost to the weather on Saturday. Newly named Native Princess will have an entry in the mares bumper in Doncaster next Wednesday as well, but is more likely to go to Warwick a few days later. If Southwell is on on Monday Smart Exit will run, and is more likely to run in the 3m 2f chase rather than the better quality 3 miler. Fingers crossed for a safe run from BC today for his owners Terence and Howard, so that they can look forward to a day out in Cheltenham next month!!
