Tuesday 25 March
Time for a catch up - Starting with Colebrooke - who let everyone down on Friday in Newbury. Travelling sweetly he settled and jumped well under the impressive Ryan Hatch, but passing the stands he went from joint fourth to fourth last in a matter of strides and it was obvious that he had downed tools. He finished a tailed off 17 of 17. We sat down with Ben after the race and all came to the same conclusion that C had fallen out of love with the game completely and we set to work finding him another job. Yesterday Ben phoned and said that as Colebrooke was fit, they would like to give him a change of scenery and see if that would ignite his interest once again, although he felt it was a along shot, so Colebrooke will join Dan Skelton later this week, and we wish Dan and little Colebrooke all the best for the future! a couple of entries were made yesterday - Benefit Cut in a Novice Chase in Ascot on Sunday, and San Telm in a handicap hurdle on the same card, hopefully the ground stays suitable for both to run. Mr Maynard has entries over the weekend, so has the chance to build on a very satisfactory debut a few weeks ago. Inca Dove also holds an entry in the mares bumper in Uttoxeter on Saturday, second in a bad race on her debut, she has shown some ability at home, and her second show should be interesting. Today Smart Exit travels to Fontwell, they have had overnight rain, and the good to soft ground is suitable. He is in great form at home, and should run a nice race in the first time visors. Josh Moore is reunited with our ultra consistent chaser.
