With spring very much here, although it doesn't feel very springlike today, a few of the horses are getting near their summer holidays. Recent Ascot winner Benefit Cut was going to Punchestown, but that pla has had to be shelved for another year as he need a bit of treatment in his hind quarters - after wghich he will head off on his hols. San Telm has had a bit of medication in a joint, and although it was thought that he would be getting ready for a summer break the plan has changed, as he is sound again now, and will be back on the go again in a couple of days, so he will remain in training to see if we get some wet weather later this month. Smart Exit remains in cracking order, and will be out again in about a fortnight (ground permitting). Maypole Lass, who worked very well on Saturday, is entered in Ludlow on Thursday, and will run if the ground remains decent. The Grand National on Saturday was a thrilling spectacle, and well done to Dr Richard Newland and his team. Dr N. is a lovely man, and the prize could not have gone to a better yard!
