Monday 21 July

During what is an uncommonly quiet summer at Fences Farm, there are a mere three horses currently in fast work. Ereyna, Mr Maynard and Genny Wren - all three have engagements this week. Ereyna is declared in Bangor tomorrow evening with Brendan Powell taking over from the sidelined Josh Moore. Josh won on the mare last time out in Towcester, but has been having problems with an old shoulder injury, and has had to go under the knife to rectify the situation. We wish him a speedy recovery. Brendan has ridden Ereyna before and liked her then, so hopefully if she doesn't find the ground too quick she will run well! Mr Maynard and Genny Wren both have entries in Uttoxeter later in the week. It was good to see San Telms new owner, Steve Newland over at Fences Farm again on Saturday. He came to see his new boy, and to meet his pal Roy, who joined him to have a look around the place and find out more about the share options in Cloonacool. I am delighted to say that Roy has also decided to join the fold and taken a share in Cloonacool, along with Kevin and Sandy Hopcroft, who have been introduced to Nick Brown Racing by Bill and Judith Bayes, who also took the plunge over the weekend. I am delighted by the way the shares have sold in Cloonacool - and why wouldn't they? The good looking son of a champion sire, out of a very decent, multiple winning mare, with good form this spring!! There are just a few shares remaining now, and with a couple more folks expressing an interest over the weekend, he should be all sorted soon!! Have a look at him on the For Sale Page and call 07909 518902 if you want to join in!!
