Although there was very little to see on Saturday, it was good to see four faces over at Fences Farm, on a very warm and pleasant morning. Matt Griggs, John Bartlett,and Dylan Hey were joined by Charlotte Groom, and were all in to see their pride and joy Dawn Commander. DC along with Cloonacool, Reyno, San Telm, were all out together, and it was nice to see them trot past us twice on the top of the hill. The whole string are in fantastic order, and Stuart is delighted with the shape of all of them! After a nice chat in the sun, I had to go back to work, but John, Matt and Dylan had the sense to find a pub and take in a bit of lunch - what I would have given to join them!! It is wonderful to see friendships formed at the races carrying over to mornings at the yard - none of these guys knew each other before joining NBR, but now, with a common bond, they are very much making the most of their ownership experience. Stuart rode Benefit Cut on Friday, and was delighted with him - he looks and feels fantastic, and everyone is very excited about getting him back on the track in the Autumn! Maypole Lass looks really well as well, and with her form from Towcester being franked, she should be up to winning a race in the not too distant future. She may even have a crack at chasing this season, as, like Azza in Uttoxeter yesterday, as a 4 yr old filly, she will get all the allowances - and she jumps like a bunny!! Everyone that knows me, knows how much I enjoy Juvenile Hurdlers! They come with a level of form, so you know what you are getting - they are usually race fit - so you don't have to wait forever to see them on the track, and you can really have a great time plotting and planning their races! We have had great success with the ones that we have had - and there is a possibility that we could be having another this year.
