The horses have now been back in work for nearly a month, and it will not be long until they start cantering! It always seems an age before we get going again with them, but the time soon flies round and we are back racing in no time! I am pleased to report that they are all in great form! Tomorrow we get to welcome another couple of 'new faces' to Fences Farm, when Colin and Luke pop over to see their horse Cloonacool for the first time. This is the first venture into racehorse ownership for either of them, and we wish them well with their first horse - we think they have chosen well. Mr Maynard has been to see Brett The Vet and has had, shall we say, a little bit of work done!! Watch this space!! So near and yet so far yesterday for Mrs Robeson, and her brother, Sir Evelyn de Rothschild when their homebred filly Waila was narrowly beaten into third in the Group 3 Lilly Langtry Stakes in Glorious Goodwood. The filly came to win her race, but was outbattled by Missunited, who started her winning in bumpers!! Hillstar was due to run today for the same connections, but has been declared a non runner due to the ground. We still have a few shares for sale - a quarter share in San Telm is for sale for the sole reason that the owner wants to purchase a horse for him and his family. San Telm is a bonny little horse, rated 126, who will be aimed at some nice handicaps in the autumn/winter, with the main target of a run at The Cheltenham Festival. We also have a 1/8 share in Smart Exit for sale - offered by the same man, for the same reason. Smart Exit is a fun, ultra consistent horse, who will be winning his races when the mud is flying in the winter. He loves it around Towcester, and would make an ideal horse for someone local, that would like to go racing with friends!! There are still a couple of shares left in Cloonacool, (£730 + £20/wk), his form is looking stronger every day, and we like what we see of him.
