Such a shame!! Maypole Lass just failed to land a decent pot in a very competitive mares hurdle in Ludlow yesterday. Travelling and jumping really well she took it up travelling supremely well after 3 out, only to be nabbed just short of the line, going down by just a nose! She has run by far her best race yet, but unbelievably remains a maiden - her winning turn is not very far away at all now! Her owner, Ben Turner who was at Ludlow, was thrilled with the run, and knows that he will soon be picking up a trophy! It was the total opposite to Cloonacool on Monday, who did everything wrong - and won. ML did everything right - and got beat! ML is fine this morning. With a winner, and a very close second this week, the team at Fences Farm seem to have them in great heart. San Telm, who is working well at home, has an entry in Wetherby next Wednesday, but it will need to rain up there for him to go, as their ground is currently good to firm. He will continue to have entries, including mid month in Cheltenham. Mairise continues to go really well at home, and is still on course for his hurdling debut in Uttoxeter next Thursday!
