Tuesday 21 October

The intended run of Maypole Lass on Thursday has been scuppered! She appears to have managed to get herself cast last night, and will now not run. A shame as she looked to have a fair chance back in novice company, and could well have broken her maiden. There were even jockeys ringing up to ride her - but they will have to wait for another day, as will we all! I have just checked the ground in Aintree and they give it Good To Soft, Good in places on the hurdles course, and Good, Good To Soft in places on the chase course. If it remained like that, then both Dawn Commander and Benefit Cut would take their chances. DC would not run on ground too soft! The jockey situation will be something that has to be sorted out later this week, as we will have to wait on the yards where our intended jockeys are attached to to make their moves. Mr Maynard is entered in Southwell, back over 2 miles, he could well sport some form of headgear.
