Thursday 8 January
Paddy The Deejay makes his UK debut tomorrow, for the KTDA Partnership in the Huntingdon Bumper. This fine big horse has some very solid Point To Point form in his native Ireland, and has done nothing but impress since he came across the water. Obviously it is tough to judge, as he has not been at Fences Farm for long - but he should run a very nice race tomorrow. He is a lovely prospect for chases in the future! Unfortunately we will not be making the trip to Kempton on Saturday with Benefit Cut. Despite feeling very well to ride, a blood test has shown that he is far from right, and he will have to have a short spell on the easy list to get his system back in balance. Very frustrating for his owners Howard and Terence, but he is a very nice horse, and one worth waiting for! Also taking a slight step back is Dawn Commander, who although being ridden for a few days, failed to please the vet when he trotted him up a couple of days ago, and he has been put back on the walker for a further 2 weeks. San Telm on the other hand is in great form, and continues to progress from his spell on the sidelines. Smart Exit is still Chepstow bound a week tomorrow, and Native Princess is still heading to Lingfield at the end of the month, although she has also had a couple of easier days, as her flu jab always knocks her back for a day or two - this is only very temporary, and not uncommon. We continue to search the length and breadth of Ireland to find a new syndicate horse, along with horses for clients. Just at the moment value for money is very hard to source, but we will get there - we always do our upmost to make sure that what we buy is the right one for the money! I do have a nice mare on offer who is a half sister to a black type performer and who has some very solid form in the book, both in bumpers and over hurdles. She looks handicapped to win so if you are interested in a good value mare then please give me a call - 07909 518902.
