A late submission of the news today - as we have been waiting for news of a vetting in Ireland. I am delighted today that our next purchase has passed the vet and will be arriving over to Fences Farm over the course of the next week or so. He is Bold Conquest - a seven year old son of Oscar, out of a Supreme Leader mare - and so bred along the same lines as such superstars as Black Jack Ketchum and At Fishers Cross. Although 7, he only made his debut 12 months ago, and only has 11 races under his belt. He ran just last week in a Beginners Chase, and ran a super race to be second, running to a Timeform and Racing Post rating of 122. His full brother, Bold Optimist, was a very high quality bumper performer, earning 10/1 quotes for the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival after winning a 20,000 Euro bumper in Leopardstown on his debut. We think that Bold Conquest will be ideally suited to racing o this side of the Irish Sea, and with what looks like a super action could well be suited to summer jumping over here. He will revert to hurdles so as to protect his novice status over fences for next season. It has taken us nearly 4 months to find a horse such as this and we are delighted to get him - we feel he represents fantastic value, and urge all interested parties to get in touch ASAP. Just 25 shares are available, priced at £650 (plus £25/week all inclusive training fee). email info@nickbrownracing.co.uk for further details or call me on 07909 518902. At home Smart Exit and Benefit Cut both schooled over fences this morning, and schooled really well. BC is entered in Warwick on Friday, and SE will be entered in Plumpton next Monday. Cloonacool has his bandage changed this morning, and everything looks fine there - his stitches come out at the end of the week.
