Beaten just 4 lengths on his debut for us in a tight handicap hurdle in Fontwell - this boy looked a sure-fire winner in the not too distant future, and he duly obliged in a decent handicap in Uttoxeter on May 2.Given a short summer break he has continued in fine form over the autumn, and was recently 4th beaten under 4 lengths in a very decent handicap hurdle in Doncaster. Bold Conquest is a superbly bred son of Oscar, out of a Supreme Leader mare. He is bred along the same lines as such superstars as At Fishers Cross and Black Jack Ketchum. His full brother, Bold Optimist was the debut winner of the 20,000 Euro bumper at Leopardstowns Christmas fixture and was immediately quoted at 10/1 for the champion bumper at the Cheltenham Festival. Bold Conquest is 7, but only commenced his career 12 months ago. He has progressed nicely, and ran a quality race to finish second in a very decent beginners chase, earning a Timeform and Racing Post Rating of 122.As you can see from the clip below he is a quality individual (front rank (second), near side), and I could not have been happier when he stepped off of the lorry.
