Tuesday 7 April
Another 2 unsaddling in the winners enclosure yesterday - one nearly made it to the top spot, the other did well to sneak into the end one! A glorious day in Norfolk yesterday, although it was I bit chillier than I expected when I left home! Ereyna looked fabulous on her first start for seven months, and ran accordingly - just beaten half a length at the line. The track would not have been ideal, so she ran really well to be second. Kayla is not super quick, but does try her heart out, and ran really well to be fourth in a decent looking mares bumper - she will have her day, and somewhere like Towcester could suit her if she runs again this spring. The serial self harmer Dawn Commander is still in one piece. He cam through a schooling session yesterday, and appears to be in rude health! We have masses of bubble wrap and cotton wool out!! Bold Conquest also schooled really well and is bang on target for Fontwell on Friday. The ground looks to be coming for both of them - although Aintree have taken it upon themselves to water the Good to Soft ground on the Mildmay course! I'm off up there with the pen knife!! As long as everything is OK in the morning DC will be declared, and I'll be on the phone re badges!! If you are in both DC and BoC, it wpould be good if you could let me know when I call if you would like badges for Fontwell on Friday as well, that will save time in a hectic couple of days. Thanks.
