A glorious morning watching work yesterday. Both Bold Conquest and Dawn Commander had worked well on Friday, so they were only asked to do a decent canter yesterday, and both went well again. Dawn Commander has come away from Aintree well, and has an entry in Warwick on Thursday. There are only 16 entered, so with the likelihood of a few going elsewhere, or staying at home he should only face about 8 rivals - which will be far more his cup of tea! Bold Conquest is also in good heart. He too has come out of his Fontwell run in good heart, and will head to a 3m handicap hurdle in Uttoxeter on Saturday May 2. The trip and track should be much more to his liking. DC and BC can be seen below: Maypole Lass and Kayla are both in great form. They both breezed off the top yesterday. ML has an entry in Kempton tomorrow, but we are watching the declarations to assess the strength of the opposition. Kayla could well head to a bumper in Towcester at the end of the month. Their breeze is below:
Native Princess also cantered and looked in fine fettle with herself! Her pilot Megan reported her to be in great form, and she was delighted with her! She looks to have strengthened up for her enforced break!
Benefit Cut seems fine after his run. He is having a few days off, spending some quality time in the field in the sunshine. He will be ridden again on Monday. The new boy will be over from Ireland early next week, and will stay at Fences Farm for a couple of weeks before moving out to some summer grass. Full details will appear on here when he arrives, but rest assured he is a quality horse, with enormous presence - has some very good Irish Point to Point form, and looks a very exciting prospect. If you would like to come and see him while he is at Fences Farm then please give me a ring on 07909 518902. If he is not syndicated in 2 weeks of arrival he will go on the open market, and we already have a couple of interested parties! So be quick!
