They do not come much more satisfying than that!! A late night in Southwell was worth it - Native Princess coming from last to first under an inspired Paddy Brennan to clinch the mares bumper. It has been a long haul with her - it seems an absolute age since I first saw her as a foal at Doncaster Sales. She was a good looking girly, and won the Foal show that day, and this, along with an outstanding pedigree made my mind up to buy her! She has now joined 6 of her siblings by winning a bumper - and two of those, Our Ben and Scavenger went on to compete at the highest level and show a very decent level of form. Like the rest of the family she has been a slow developer, and her loyal owners have had to be so very patient - but as they all said last night - that is horses - and she is worth waiting for! Sometimes it doesn't all happen immediately - Native Princess' debut was nothing short of a disaster - she was virtually pulled up in a Warwick Bumper - but at least there were reasons and they could be sorted out. Naturally we all held our breath when she ran for the second time last November in Lingfield - but were delighted when she was beaten under 2 lengths into third. The penny seemed to drop for her half way through that run, and Josh who rode her that day really liked her. Being weak, the plan was then hatched to give her a little break over the worst of the winter, and head back to Lingfield in February, but just 2 weeks before that intended run she suffered a setback that ruled that option out. She spent a few weeks locked in her box, but came back to work in great order and has been going really well, but last nights race looked a lot deeper than her previous contest, and after a longish layoff we were really only expecting a place at best. Nobody told Native Princess! Settled in rear by Paddy, she travelled very smoothly, and crept into the race at the end of the back straight. As they fanned out entering the home straight she really got into stride and had a ding dong battle with Princess Roania all the way to the line, showing great heart and a huge will to win. She is one tough cookie! Paddy was buzzing after the race, he was so pleased with the way she had done it, saying that coming from last to first in any bumper took some doing! He has called this morning to see if she was alright, and said that she should continue on through the summer, and if what he said last night is true - she will not come off the bridle in a maiden hurdle! She is a very exciting mare - and there are 3 shares for sale in her!! Have a look on the For Sale Page. The great thing about her is that because she hails from such an outstanding National Hunt family, she has a big future (and value) as a broodmare when her racing days are over. She can be considered a very sound investment, and will give all of her owners a huge amount of fun in the meantime! Understandably her owners were all delighted last night, and it was lovely to hear their comments after the race. We aim to make racing fun, and although having winners helps - it should be fun all the time. Those that have joined from other Owners groups were kind enough to say what a good job we do - so you know that we not only deliver winners - we deliver great service as well! Please give me a call on 07909 518902 to discuss ownership options - we have a number of shares in different horses available from 4% - up to 100% and we would be only too pleased to discuss these horses with you! Our results speak for themselves - we get the job done!!
