Ben Turner called in last night to see the horses - he was very taken with Christmas Twenty, and thought Cloonacool looked fantastic. CT, Bold Conquest and Native Princess all did a quicker piece yesterday, and Stuart reported that they all went well. After seeing the horses at Fences Farm, Ben, who was accompanied by his father Ian, and I headed out to The Elms stud to see a couple there. Savingforvegas (top) has done really well in the 2 months that she has been there, and has turned herself 'inside out'. She was in great form, bucking and skipping around the paddock and Stuart will be heading over to The Elms to pick her up this afternoon to begin her pre training. Thanks to Louise and Sarah for their time - and beer - sorry to have kept you up so late! The Elms is a lovely, quiet, well run stud just south of Northampton, that take great care of the horses and we will be using them a great deal from now! Ben, who is currently off games with an ankle injury, but hopes to be back training shortly, also got to see 'Gary' (bottom), a 2 yr old that was purchased in France earlier this year. Gary is developing into a real chasing type, and with a super pedigree he is one for the future for sure.
