Tuesday 25 August

Just four runners currently stand their ground in the mares novices hurdle in Fontwell this evening. Native Princess will run, the ground is good to soft, soft in places, and when she won her bumper on her last start in June, the ground was dscribed by the jockeys that night as 'summer soft'. NP is fast improving, and is very tough and competitive. She has schooled well, and should run a cracking race tonight. It would be great to start the autumn campaign with a winner. Yesterday, Wolf Of Windlesham ran a solid race to be third in Kempton. Stuarts first flat runner stayed on well to finish in the frame, and will now be stepped up in trip again. He will be winning a race on the flat for sure, and looks like he could be a smashing juvenile hurdler in the making. Everything else at home is well, with the next intended runner being Christmas Twenty in a bumper in Southwell next Wednesday (2nd).
