Monday 14 September
Super weather at Fences Farm on Saturday, and the horses all looked in fantastic form! Great to see Bob & Chris, Dave & Richard and Claire all in to see their horses work. First lot saw three nice horses work, and after breakfast Stuart had a whole bunch of nice horses working together. Cloonacool, Bold Conquest, Native Princess, San Telm and Smart Exit all worked with a few others, and all went really well. NP earned herself an entry in Newton Abbot on Friday - we will monitor both the ground and opposition before committing her to run. She will certainly not run on anything faster than good, so she will need it to rain! Cloonacool is bang on course for his seasonal debut on September 26th. Bold Conquest is back to form, after being a bit sore behind a couple of weeks ago. He will have entries in both chases and hurdles from September 22, although at the moment a hurdle run would seem more likely. San Telm is in rude health - he looks fantastic, and everyone that has sat on him since his break have reported him to be back to his old self. The latest of which was Steph, who said on Saturday that he had all of his old zest back, and was showing all of his old enthusiasm and speed! There is still a share available in the terrific little horse, who is rated 126, and will go to some cracking venues this winter!! info@nickbrownracing.co.uk for more details (photos on the For Sale Page). Smart Exit is also right back on song after a truncated season last time. He should be ready to go to Chepstow early next month. Savingforvegas is still doing her work on the walker, but he sarcoid that has prevented her from being ridden is nearly at a stage when she can have a saddle on, so it will not be long before this gorgeous mare will be ridden. Christmas Twenty has been undergoing a course of road trips to assess the best way to travel him. He was fine on a trip when wearing a hood, and with a companion last week, and today, when Stuart tried him on his own, he was back to his silly old self - so Stu has the answer - he will have to always go to the races with a mate! He will work this wek, and then we will look for a race for him over hurdles.
