Tuesday 17 November
Smart Exit heads to Chepstow tomorrow. In fine form, he has finished first and second on just two trips to the home of the Welsh National, and with soft ground holding no terrors, and the booking of a top class 7lb claimer in Ceiran Gethings - he should go well! What's not to like apart from a trip across the Severn Bridge in a high sided vehicle in high winds!! This morning I watched second lot work. Savingforvegas led them up with Focusing. Christmas Twenty who looks a million dollars, tucked in behind. Stuart rode new boy Sneaking Budge, and he was delighted with him. He reported him to work really well from top to bottom, and looks like he will be ideally suited by a step up in trip. We are looking at giving him a spin on the flat next week, over 2 miles - just to get the ball rolling. He has schooled really well over hurdles, but we will just give him a spin on the flat to get the ball rolling. San Telm worked in behind, and will head to Uttoxeter on Sunday if the ground is not too deep, as heavy ground there is truly heavy!! Bold Conquest was out first lot, and worked really well. Cloonacool just breezed, and is on really good terms with himself! He heads to Ascot on Friday. Ereyna has arrived back to Fences Farm, and this means that the other 'strange grey' Dawn Commander has a play mate for the next few weeks, and when they both have a set of shoes on later this week, they will resume work!! It will be good to se the both back!
