Sunday 29 November
A busy few days came to an end yesterday with a morning at Fences Farm. Great to see John, John and Alan who were in to see their new boy Sneaking Budge. SB was out third lot, with Wednesdays bumper winner Savingforvegas, and they enjoyed a trip to the jumps field and a little skip up a few flights of hurdles. Both really enjoyed themselves. Both look like making their hurdling debuts next month. First lot San Telm, Smart Exit, Cloonacool all had a couple of canters. All are in good order. Fridays second Bold Conquest is fine and had a morning off - He ran a cracker in Doncaster, under a super ride from Tom O'Brien. Unfortunate to run into one, but he did himself proud and very much enjoyed the track and the ground as we thought he would. He has come out of the race well and will go again in 3-4 weeks, or we could wait a little longer and look for a race over the Christmas Holiday period. Second Lot, Mr Hartigans mare Focusing did a n ice piece ahead of her intended debut this week. She will have a couple of options in mares bumpers. Mr Lawrences Wolf Of Windlesham also went well, and the recent Cheltenham winner will be out again in mid December. Christmas Twenty is very much on course to go to Huntingdon next Sunday - it is Peterborough Chase day, so it should be a fun day out. At first glance it looks like the form of his Stratford run took a knock in Doncaster on Friday, where the Stratford winner Charbel was beateninto second, but I very much like the look of the winner, who has some very smart point form in the book, and could just turn out to be a very decent prospect himself!
