Monday 28 December
Bold Conquest (Bob) is declared to run in the 1.45 in Doncaster tomorrow. This cracking little horse has been the model of consistency since joining us earlier this year, and is in fine form. That being said - this will be his stiffest task to date over hurdles for us, and he will have to be at his very best tomorrow. He runs, as the ground in Warwick where he also had an entry on New Years Eve is looking very bad, and the ground in Doncaster will be much more to his liking. Man (Ban) of the moment Paddy Brennan takes over in the saddle, as all of his regular pilots are down in Newbury. Hopefully they will go a sensible clip, and he can feature! Pine Warbler ran in Leicester this afternoon, and ran a cracker to be third. He had looked set for third there earlier in the month only to take a tired fall at the last. Today he managed to negotiate all of the obstacles and stayed on to be placed after the last. Given his conditions - there is a little race in him somewhere! Sneaking Budge schooled this morning, and was very good. He has an entry in Sandown on Saturday, but will also have further entries going forward, and we will pick the best option for him. Christmas Twenty will go to Fakenham on Jan 1st. It looks a hot heat, but he isn't the sort of horse you can hold on to when he is ready, so he will make the trip. Hopefully the race will cut up a bit!
