Wednesday 20 January

A frosty morning at Fences Farm, but good to see Larry Fitch and his son James, who were in to see Larrys horse Bold Conquest. BC is on tick over at the moment, until we get some better ground, but is in great order, and this mis season pause will allow him to run into the spring/early summer. BC just did one and a half canters this morning, but a few more did some proper work. San Telm lead the way, and he is in super form - Sneaking Budge worked in behind along with Wolf Of Windlesham, Pine Warbler and Cloonacool. Ereyna did 2 canters. Third lot Reyno worked with Savingforvegas, and both went well - Christmas Twenty delighted regular pilot Steph, when he went out on his own between second and third lots. Savingforvegas and Pine Warbler were entered in Leicester on the 26th, and at 11.45 were accompanied by Cloonacool who was entered in the 2m Novice Chase when there were only 9 entered at that stage. It is only a speculative entry, and he will be scoped tomorrow to confirm his well being before we look at the options open to him. Smart Exit will also be scoped in the morning before a decision is made on him running in Chepstow on Friday. The search for new horses continues to frustrate - but we are working hard to get the right ones! It isn't easy - but we are always patient, and never rush into purchases - it is a ploy that has held us in good stead in the past - and we will continue trawling through until we find the right ones - the wait will be worth it!!
