Monday 25 January
We have a wonderful week planned! Tomorrow it is Leicester - Pine Warbler, who has started all of his hurdle runs there, goes in the 2m 4f Novice hurdle. He has been the recipient of a few disparaging remarks since he was foaled, but you cant help but admire him. His legs go in all directions but he tries so very hard, and will be qualified for handicaps after tomorrow. Ben Turners Savingforvegas misses her engagement in Leicester and heads to Warwick on Thursday. On Wednesday I am in Doncaster at the Sales, where Native Princess goes under the hammer. On Thursday, as mentioned it will be Warwick where SFV will run, and is likely to be joined there by Smart Exit. Warwick perhaps not an ideal track for him, but there are no options at his favoured big galloping venues. Friday it looks as though San Telm will travel to Doncaster. He is in a very hot heat on Town Moor, but he will get his ground there. On Saturday Cloonacool is entered in 2 races in Doncaster. both over 2 miles - he is in a class 2 handicap chase, and the Grade 2 Lightening Novices Chase. He will be scoped Friday, and we will look at both races and see which we think is his best option. A fun week ahead!! Hopefully a winner or 2 in there!! Sneaking Budge is more comfortable now, and is having a few very short walks around the yard each day. The vet will be in again to see him early next week. Wolf Of Windlesham is entered in the juvenile hurdle in Cheltenham on Saturday - he is in great form.
