Nearly - but not quite! Paul couldn't quite Can Can. Paul owns a share in Visible Light, and was dancing around Towcester when he won on debut for him last week. With the likelihood of going up in the handicap, and holding an entry on Monday it was decided to let VL take his chance on Southwell. The plan so nearly worked. Cruising into the home straight it looked a case of how far would he win by, but he met a very tough and resolute opponent, and lost out in a head bobbing finish by just a nose! It is always galling to finish second, but to miss out by an inch - with 25 lengths back to the third is truly sickening! In an case it was a great race. and VL ran really well. Yesterday he was raised 7lbs for the Towcester win, and will no doubt go up plenty for being pipped on Monday, so he will have entries next week in the hope that we can stay one step ahead of the handicapper. He has come out of his second race in 4 days well, and will only go if he is in the form to do so! His first entry is in Hexham next Tuesday. Cloonacool is declared to run in Ludlow tomorrow. He is a course and distance winner and is in fine form. He looks to have a great chance of landing another decent prize! Wolf Of Windlesham runs tonight on the flat in Kempton. He too is in good heart, and if he maintains his upward curve over hurdles he will take all the beating. Good luck to connections.
