Thursday 7 April

A really enjoyable day at Europes first Breeze Up sale of the year in Ascot yesterday. A range of 2 yr olds on offer, but those that ticked every box made good money. Trade was strong across the board - and the bubble that the bloodstock world seems to live in is very much intact, and if yesterday is anything to go on - the trade will be strong for the foreseeable future. This evening after racing in Aintree, the winner, and the second from our new boy Pull Together's 4 yr old maiden point to point go under the hammer. It will be very interesting to see what the market makes of them, but I am confident that after they have been through the ring, Pull Together will look fantastic value - remember he was less just 3/4 of a length behind the winner, and a mere head behind the second! Stuart likes him very much, and had him just stride on off the top this morning an said he did it really well - have a look at him on the For Sale Page! He is available as a whole or in Shares. Smart Exit has had the blinkers applied at home and will wear them when he heads to Chepstow on Saturday. They seemed to perk him up a bit! Ciaran Gethings is booked to ride, and hopefully SE will come back to his best with the change of headgear. San Telm will be entered in Cheltenham next Thursday - we would love to run him on the Wednesday - but some very strange race conditions that preclude any horse that has won since April 2015 rules him out unfortunately! Bold Conquest is entered in Exeter on April 12th. He is in great order, and the course should be right up his street, which is not the case going forward, where all the races that suit him are on tracks that would not!
