Saturday 9 July
Another week goes by, and another week of frustrations on the purchasing front. We finally called quits on the deal in France - the horse was bought - a price agreed, but getting a vet to examine it was proving impossible - we felt it had dragged on long enough - and although I really liked the horse, and felt he would have gone to some really good places over here - it was right to walk away. We looked at plenty at the Newmarket July sales, but if they were not lame, they were expensive, so no joy for NBR there. All the horses at Fences Farm are in fine form - plenty are spending the nice summer afternoons in turn out paddocks close to the yard - Bold Conquest feels so well he jumped out of his paddock earlier this week to join a neighbour! Pull Together like many of them is bucking and kicking, and feels very fresh and well! Molly Childers has her shoes on and has been ridden - she looks fabulous! Cloonacool is in fine fettle - and Sneaking Budge, along with Wolf Of Windlesham will soon be back in their stables. Please note that there is a share available in Sneaking Budge - due to unforeseen circumstances a share has become available in this winning son of Nayef. Just a 4 yr old he is a half brother to a Champion in Main Sequence (third in the Derby and Breeders Cup winner), he has won a Sandown Juvenile Hurdle from just 2 starts over obstacles. He likes soft ground and this big scopey horse has a big future over hurdles and fences! 07909 518902 for further details. For the same reason there is also a share in Bold Conquest available - info@nickbrownracing.co.uk to get an update on him!!
