A quick trip over to The Elms Stud yesterday to pick up a passport, and look at the horses there. Ben Turner has three borders there - Top Garry, a big rangey 3 yr old son of Ballingarry, from a cracking French family (top). He was purchased as a yearling, and has thrived since arriving. Stuart had him for a few weeks in the spring and was very impressed with him. He looks a very smart prospect indeed. Also there is Savingforvegas, who is enjoying the pregnant life - she looks fab, and although she will always suffer from the effects of her injury, she is in fine fettle! We also have the Flemensfirth filly we purchased at the Goffs UK Sale in the spring turned out there. She was broken in the spring and turned away to enjoy the summer. She too looks fantastic (bottom), and is enjoying life. TG and her will next week be joined by Paul Wells' Kalanisi gelding purchased at the Tattersalls Derby Sale in June. He is being broken by Jamie Goss nr Banbury, and his education is nearly complete. The three 3 yr olds will all head to Fences Farm in the Autumn. All will be aimed at bumpers in the spring if they are physically up to it. The 2 geldings are big lads and may need a bit of time, but the filly could well be first of them to see the racecourse as she is a really forward type! If Stuart thinks she could be suited by some cut in the ground she could well be on a racecourse for her new owners early in the new year!! Loads to look forward to!! We will be trying very hard to add to the string next week - please get in touch of you are interested in joining in a new syndicate for the coming National Hunt Season. If I have an idea of everyines budget before we go to buy - it helps us secure the right horse at the right money! 07909 518902, or email info@nickbrownracing.co.uk
