We all have that 'Someone' - you know the one - the 'What the hell do I get them for Christmas' One!! So - to help you all out - I have played Santa - and have come up with the solution! Meet Land League. You can purchase a share in Land League for just £600, plus £25/week all inclusive training/keep fee. Land League is terrific value - as he is the winner of an Irish Point to Point the weekend before last at Tattersalls Farm in Fairyhouse. He is a fine big 16.2hh horse, that is a beautiful mover, and a half brother to the talented Drumlee Sunset, who is owned by Roger Brookhouse, trained by Phillip Hobbs and rated 133 over hurdles and Fences. His sire is Touch Of Land, who was a tough son of Lando, winning multiple Group races on the flat,over trips from 9 to 11 furlongs. He is an exciting sire, who's progeny seem to be suited by trips of around 2 1/2 miles, which is, I beleive why Land League took a couple of runs to break his maiden in 3 mile points. He arrived with Stuart last week, and has settled in well. With what looks like a beautiful low action he should be suited by a sounder surface, and was in fact kept away from the very deep ground they had in Ireland earlier this year, and missed the spring point to point season. He has passed a full vetting, and is 100%. He will start very soon in bumpers, before starting over hurdles. He could well then end up being a nice horse to run on through the spring and summer on the better ground. Stuart likes him a lot, and he looks like he could well be an exciting addition to the string. Apasionado is declared in The Winter Novices Hurdle in Sandown tomorrow, it looks like there will be more runners than we all thought, as the grouns has not dried up as anticipated, and at Good To Soft, it suits both soft and good ground horses. It will be great to get AP out again - and a true test for him. He is very exciting, and although we are all aware that the bubble will burst one day - hopefully win lose or draw, it will not be tomorrow.
