LAND LEAGUE

Meet Land League - a gorgeous 6 yr old winning Irish Point to Pointer who we were quick to get after he won his point in Tattersalls Farm in Fairyhouse. He is a fine looking horse, standing at 16.2hh, with a very nice easy action. He is out of an unraced Bob Back mare, who herself was the half sister to some decent sorts in Tisserman, and The Jigsaw Man. Land League comes from a good family, and is the half brother to Drumlee Sunset, who was purchased by top owner Roger Brookhouse, for £130,000, after he won his Irish Point To Point. Drumlee Sunset has gone on to win over hurdles and fences and has earned a BHA rating of 133 in both spheres. We believe that Land League will be suited to trips around 2 1/2 miles under rules, which gives an indication why it took him a few runs to win his 3 mile point to point. He has an easy low action and looks like he will be best suited by a sounder surface, which after the wet spring they had in Ireland earlier this year, was the reason he missed the Spring Point to Point season. He settled in well, but was sick for a good minth after arriving. He made his debut in Mid January in Market Rasen, where he ran a cracking race to be beaten around 13 lengths. There was no pace on which was totally against him, as was the very soft ground, so it was a very good performance over an inadequate trip. His second run was in Towcester, again on soft ground, and back to 2 miles on this stiff track. Again LL ran very well to be second to a very highly regarded horse from Neil Mulhollands, Solighoster. Because he had been slightly keen in his first two runs we kept him to 2 miles for his next run in Huntingdon, where again he ran a great race to be third. There was a far better gallop here, and he settled well. Josh Moore, who rode him there said he needed to go up in trip now that he settled, so his next run will be over further. He has been allotted a handicap mark of 110. This lovely horse is sure to win over hurdles before progressing up the ranks in the chasing division. He is a horse that Stuart likes very much - and represents amazing value! There are just 12 shares available - priced at £1,800 each (plus £200/month all inclusive training/keep fee).
