Monday 12 December

We are back! Due to computer, and IT issues it has been a day or two since we updated. Time to catch up! Sneaking Budge still needs a bit more time to recover from his muscle pull in his forearm. Everything is as it should be below the knee, but the area of injury above the knee needs to heal properly. He is just on gentle exercise. Molly Childers has come out of her race in fine form. She has sharpened up, and worked very well on Saturday. She has an entry in a mares bumper on Thursday, but the plan has always been for her to go to Hereford next Monday. She is a smashing filly, and has the Listed bumper in Sandown in March as her main target. Her season will be geared around this, and she will not be seen over hurdles this season. Pull Together is well, and will hopefully make his debut in a bumper around Boxing Day. Apasionado has come out his race in Sandown in fine form, and has an entry in the Grade 2 Kennel Gate Novice hurdle in Ascot on Friday. This is over a more suitable 2 miles, as he just did not stay the 2m 4f in Sandown. As he can only run in these top novice hurdles this season he will take his chance if the ground isn't too testing. He is in fine form himself. Cloonacool is just about ready to rock. He seems back to his best, and as planned will be going to either Ludlow on the 21st, over fences or Kempton on the 27th over hurdles. Chandos Belle has had an interesting time. It is always tough to assess a new horse, and Stuart has always thought of her as a stayer based on her home work, which doesn't stack up when you look at her track form. In recent days it has transpired that she has not been 100% and that what she has been showing us at home since she arrived has been all wrong! She has turned herself right around and is now properly back on song, she is running away with herself on the gallops. She obviously was all wrong when she ran in Wolverhampton, and didn't handle the surface, so she can be rated a lot better than that! She is being aimed at a juvenile fillies maiden hurdle in Doncaster on the 29th. She schooled over the baby chase fences last week and was really good! There are a couple of shares left available in her! Land League is coming together really nicely, he has had a bout of man flu (lot of it about), and has been coughing, but that is getting better and he is going nicely on the gallops. He gives his riders a lovely feel, and we are looking forward to getting going with him. There are still a few shares left in him - so get in touch to arrange a time to come and see him. The 3 yr olds are also going really nicely. The Flemensfirth filly is a big strong girl, and is going forward nicely. Paul Wells Kalanisi gelding is a lovely big horse that covers the ground well, and does everything with a minimum of effort. Ben Turners Top Garry is also athletic and is going well. Hopefully they will all get to see the racecourse in the spring, but there is still a long way to go with them, although we will have to start thinking about a name for the filly soon! There are a number of new arrivals at Fences Farm, and they all look really exciting - more of theses later this week!
