Sunday 12 February

There was a hint of snow in the air yesterday - but that did not stop two hardy souls - Liam and Ollie who were in to see their horses. Liam in to see the 4 yr old Flemensfirth filly - who can now have a proper name. Her owners all got involved in suggesting a name for her, and a lot of time and effort had obviously gone into research for a few of them. They each then voted for one of the suggested names (not their own) and out of the six suggestions the winning nomination was Queenohearts. She will be named this week. Liam saw QOH do one canter. It was a long morning with four lots out - but we saw a really nice piece of work from Molly Childers (below) who worked up to, and through two workmates. MC has an entry in Fakenham on Friday, and the plan is to run. She will also have an entry in Ascot on Saturday as back up. She seems in rude health. Cloonacool is having an easy two weeks. Tricky Silence had a breeze off the top with Chandos Belle, and goes nicely. He is fit, and his sharpness is coming now - he should be out in a couple of weeks. CB is declared to run in Plumpton tomorrow. She is fit and well, and I am looking forward to seeing her on softer ground. Brendan Powell rides. Apasionado was out fourth lot yesterday, and he did a really nice piece of work - the targets of 22,23 and 25th remain in place. It is a busy week ahead, with road trips to Plumpton, Towcester, Cheltenham and Fakenham on the cards. Hopefully they are fruitful journeys!!
