Thursday 30 March
Land League is declared to run in Fontwell tomorrow. Brendan Powell rides. LL has always been Brendans ride, he wasn't able to ride him the last day in Huntingdon due to being banned for a couple of days. This will be LL's first time on decent ground, and we are looking forward to seeing how he goes on it. This fine stamp of horse has a very bright future, and will be some sight when he meets the larger obstacles in the future! There are still shares available - so if you would like to get in before he runs then please get in touch today! You may just beat the market - if he wins tomorrow, the share price is sure to go up!! Elsewhere, Chandos Belle will travel down to Gloucestershire on Tuesday to have a small wind op to rectify an epiglottis entrapment. In other words we have noticed that when she is breathing she is trapping her epiglottis, which is compromising the amount of air she can get into her lungs. It is shutting off a percentage of her wind pipe. A simple procedure will rectify this, and in total she will only be at the vets around 90 minutes, without a general anaesthetic. Cue Card had the same op before he won the Charlie Hall, and went on to nearly land the Jackpot of the Betfair Chase, King George and Gold Cup. It will be very much to her benefit. She has been allotted an opening handicap mark of 106. Tricky Silence has been entered in Kempton next Tuesday. Hopefully they will get some decent ground, and he will not have to run in ground he hates. After this run he will be eligible for handicaps. Maria's Benefit was scoped this morning, and is still very much on course for her run in the Listed Mares Bumper in Aintree a week today. She will be entered tomorrow. Pine Warbler is entered in Uttoxeter on Saturday. Two 4 yr olds hold entries in the same race on Monday in Huntingdon. Paul Wells' Kingsley, and Ben Turners Top Garry. They worked together yesterday and went well, but these two are big, raw horses, that will very much benefit from the experience. If the ground is no worse than good, they will both run, and then head off for a summer break. They are both very exciting prospects.
