Maria's Benefit ran well in the Mares Champion Bumper yesterday. She is a very talented filly, and we were hoping for a big run from her. the track suited, the ground was ideal, and we anticipated a strong gallop. We got two out of three - the gallop was not strong enough for her, and she did way too much early. She travelled into the home straight looking like the winner, but Ciaran said when he went for her there was nothing left in the fuel tank. In the end she tired into 10th. Still a very respectable run, and she, like Molly Childers is a lovely filly to look forward to next season when she pops over hurdles. She will be schooled over hurdles in the next week/10 days and then head off on holiday.
