A couple of the squad were back at it last week. Cloonacool and Land League both came back to their stables and were fitted with new sets of shoes. They were ridden over the weekend, and the journey to full fitness begins. Land League has been bought in early, as he acts on a sound surface, (although his form is good on softer, and he may well be as effective on that too), and he can hopefully pick up a little handicap hurdle in the late summer/early autumn before all the big boys come out to play. He will remain over hurdles until we think that he has reached the ceiling of his ability in that sphere before switching to fences. Cloonacool is in in preparation for a third tilt at the Listed Prelude Hurdle in Market Rasen in late September. He is in a few days earlier this year, as he will have his breathing attended to when he is fitter. Both of them look really well, and are in good order, they have both put on plenty of weight while on their holidays, and there is plenty for Stuart and the team to work on. Just a reminder that we have shares available. 10% shares in Classic Ben - a cracking 4 yr old son of Champion Sire Beneficial, that has run very well in 4 yr old Maiden Points in Ireland. The 4 yr old Irish Maiden Points are a fantastic source of winners, and this lad looks the real deal. He will come back into work in 3 weeks, and be aimed at a bumper. His experience will stand him in very good stead, and he should be able to emulate the other horses that Stuart and the team have prepared that have been by the same sire, Beneficial - Cloonacool, Maria's Benefit and Benefit Cut, who have all won. Also available is Theclockisticking - a smashing son of Gamut, out of a half sister to Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Synchronised. From a top class family, he has been placed in both of his Irish Point to Points and looks a cracking prospect for the future! He is available as a whole or in shares.
