KALOCI

It took a while, but we were delighted to secure Kaloci to run for us for the 2017/18 season. Kaloci had had 2 runs in bumpers, finishing fifth on debut, but running on very well at the end, and then running a very good race to be third in Uttoxeter in June. She is by Stowaway, (the same sire as Molly Childers), out of a mare by Old Vic, who is at the top of the tree when it comes to National Hunt Broodmare Sires! So she has the pedigree to do the job for sure. She isn't the biggest, but Stuart always does well with this type - the very exciting Maria's Benefit isn't the biggest, and we all remember Grassfinch, who won a host of races, and was tiny. Kaloci started off for us in a bumper in Fakenham, and galloped her rivals, which included geldings into the ground. She was headed a furlong out, but as is typical of her, she battled back to win well. We then pitched her in at the deep end and ran her in the Henrietta Knight Mares Listed Bumper in Huntingdon on Boxing Day. A placed finish would earn her valuable Black Type, and cement her future as a broodmare. This was a very hot heat, and she needed to improve on even her winning form to be placed against these talented mares. As ever she didn't let us down - and battled so bravely to be third, beaten just under 7 lengths. This performance marks her down as one of the most exciting mares in the UK, and she will now head down the novices' hurdle route - where she will be very hard to beat! She has already schooled over hurdles, and jumps for fun!! There is no upfront capital outlay with her, and no fixed term. She has initially been secured until May 1 2018, but that can be renegotiated at any stage.The weekly cost is a mere £25 - which is all inclusive - there will be no extras! Each member will receive 4% of net Prizemoney, and be entitled to 1 owners Badge every time she runs, so you can always go and see her run if you can - you do not go into a ballot for badges, so you will always be in the paddock!! Extra badges will be available at cost, which will be deducted from the prize money dividend paid at the end of the season. This is a great deal - for a genuine, tough and talented mare that they assure me will improve no end for being at Stuarts!
