Monday 14 August
Another beautiful morning on the hill at Fences Farm on Saturday. Good to see John & Tracey, Gary, Alan and Ben - all in to see their horses. Cloonacool is having a few days of light work, as he is ahead of schedule, and he went for a trot around the farm. A bit later in the morning he showed signs of being a bit 'colicy' - the vet came out to check him over, but by the time he arrived, Cloonacool was fine, and was tucking into his breakfast - always better to be safe than sorry though! So second lot we saw Maria's Benefit lead a lovely bunch in a couple of full canters. These included Molly Childers, Classic Ben, Clondaw Native Theclockisticking, among others. Kaloci had been out first lot, and is doing plenty of trotting now. Chandos Belle went out third lot with Queenohearts, Pull Together and Sneaking Budge and Ted Thistle. SB will be cantering in a week - he is full of himself! . Kingsley and Top Garry went out fourth lot and are also doing plenty of trot work. Land League worked with Kayla, and Stuart tried him in a tongue tie. LL's work was adequate - but he did not sparkle. He is fit enough, but we have decided to skip his intended engagements this week, and give him a little longer - with a couple of races later this month/early September likely targets. Kayla on the other hand is in fine form - and could head to Market Rasen this weekend. We will be looking at a host of 3 yr olds at The Tattersalls August Sale this week - and you never know we may have a new face by the end of the week!
