Tuesday 22 August
Over to Fences Farm this morning, and good to see John, who was in to check up on his lad Apasionado. AP is on course to be back in work in September. He has had a good break, and looks in fine fettle. Second lot we headed down to the jumps field to see Cloonacool and Land League school, and as yo can see from the clip, they did it in some style, both letting rip! LL certainly showing no ill effects of his fall last time out! LL will be making his seasonal debut in around 10 days and Cloonacool is on course for a return to Market Rasen in late September. After two goes up the baby fences they headed off to the gallop, for a gentle canter up the hill before a spin off of the top. Stuart somehow missed out on schooling Land League, was very pleased with the turn of foot shown by Land League - he thought he had found more speed again! Third Lot Sneaking Budge, Ted Thistle, Vinegar Hill, Now McGinty and Kingsley all had a canter. Kingsley will head off for a wind op on Thursday, and will be joined by Molly Childers, who will have an overland scope to assess her wind. She appears to need some surgery when cantering, but this morning she did a three quarter piece with Maria's Benefit, and was silent. Ciaran had said her wind caught her out a bit in Sandown, so we think it is best to have it looked at now. Whatever Ben Brain finds we will discuss, and it may be that she has some remdial work done on the spot on Thursday. Fourth Lot, Charmagne and Classic Ben both cantered. Queenohearts, and Chandos Belle went for a walk and a trot, and Sumu went for a walk. Good to see Steph back in this morning. She has been on maternity leave for a good while, but starts back in a couple of weeks!
