Back form the Goffs UK September sale in Doncaster last night. A catalogue of 225 horses, that saw the recent trend of very strong trade continue. By the time I had whittled down the long list to the (very) short list there were just two possible horses on our radar. The plan is to try and secure our juvenile hurdler for the winter, but unfortunately it will not be either of the two on yesterdays list. So we continue the search - and as ever the key to purchasing the right horse is patience! All good things come to he who waits - as the man said!! While away, there was exciting news from Stuart. He just asked a few of the new horses to quicken up slightly on Tuesday morning, and when I asked him how Classic Ben went, his first words were 'Very Nice'. This 4 yr old son of Beneficial has always impressed since he arrived from Ireland in the spring, and has been doing all of his work with older horses and done it well. When asked to quicken up on Tuesday he was impressive and as Stuart says - 'he settles, breathes, and quickens well - nice horse'. This will be music to the ears of Neil, who secured a share in him on Tuesday. This will be Neils first venture into ownership, and we wish him the very best of luck with his first horse. Classic Ben will be ready to run in around 3 weeks, so if you would like to join Neil and the rest of his owners in the paddock for his debut then please get in touch. 07909 518902 or email nickbrownracing@gmail.com Paul Wells' bumper winner Maria's Benefit has an entry in Worcester next Tuesday. This will be her hurdling debut, and as you would expect from a filly that dead heated in an Irish Point to Point, she has schooled well at home.
