Thursday 2 November

They say 'A good little one, will always beat a big one' - well that was certainly the case yesterday. On a day that saw our colours compete in three races across the country, it was the tiny Kaloci that came away with the bragging rights, after bagging Fakenhams concluding bumper. Kaloci is very small, but is as tough as she is tiny, and given a peach of a front running ride by Ciaran she was headed rounding the final turn - only to battle back and get her head in front. We have always liked her - she always makes you smile - a tiny little thing with a big heart and a huge will to win - we will be having a huge amount of fun with her! The photograph of Harriet and her in the Winners Enclosure says it all really! Chandos Belle also ran in Fakenham and ran a sound race on her seasonal debut. Not a lot was in her favour yesterday, but she had to run, and get the first one out of her system. In a very rough race she travelled and jumped well, she was getting into the race nicely when she started to choke and fell away. She will have a small wind op next week. Cloonacool was the third runner down in Taunton, in a race that looked tailor made for him. He travelled like the wrayh of God through the race, and looked like the winner turning in, only for his run to peter out somewhat in the home straight. It is something that has happened throughout his career, but it does seem to be getting slightly worse, so watching from Fakenham, Stuart and I have decided that he too will head off for a small wind op with Chandos Belle next week sometime. He was overland scoped earlier in the autumn, as we have felt that something was amiss for a while, but nothing showed up on the day - so, with no signs of improvement, we have decided to give him the op. Everyone, Paddy included is sure that he still retains all of his old ability, and so we have to try something to coax it out of him. I was at the sales before and after Fakenham, but failed to add to the squad on either visit. After a brief trip to Fences Farm this morning - I will be back there later today to give it another go!! It is not easy - at least Kaloci kept me smiling!! Fantastic support from owners yesterday, at both courses - good to see so many people out! Extraordinary stat of the day - Kaloci is another first time out winner for Ollie Cresswell - he has had shares in a number of horses through the years - and they have all won first time out for him! Not a bad record - I'll let everyone know when another of his makes it's debut!! To close - there are a handful of shares left available in yesterdays winner Kaloci - a free lease - there are no capital costs - and you can have a 4% share in a bumper winner for just £25/week Inclusive of all costs!! email nickbrownracing@gmail.com or call/text 07909 518902 to book your place! She makes everyone smile - she is a sweet little thing, and most of all - SHE IS A WINNER!! A video of yesterdays run can be purchased from Fakenham Racecourse by phoning the office on 01328 862388, and photos can be seen and ordered from Roger Harris - www.photoaction.co.uk
