Tuesday 12 December
This weather is causing hassle now! The presence of snow in the morning always results in the same response from me. For the first 20 seconds - 'Oh that is a lovely picturesque scene' - next 3 days- ' JUST GO AWAY!!!'. I can avoid going out mostly, but please spare a thought for all the stable staff that get in to work to look after the horses in their care! The weather put paid to Sneaking Budges day out today with the abandonment of Uttoxeter, and Land Leagues day out tomorrow has gone the same way with Leicester calling their meeting off. With the thaw looking like it will come over Wednesday, both will have entries going forward - probably over the Christmas period. Molly Childers is entered in Cheltenham on Saturday. She is in a 2m 4f Mares Handicap hurdle, and gets in with a nice weight, so will run. It will be a busy couple of days, with the sales there on Friday - where hopefully we will be adding to the team! There are a couple of empty stables at Fences Farm at the moment, as Top Garry, Kingsley, and Legal OK have all moved on to continue their careers in the Point To Point field. Queenohearts is still on track to run in Towcester on the 21st. Classic Ben will be out over Christmas. Maria's Benefit will be aimed at Taunton on the 30th. Chandos Belle is back cantering and Stuart is delighted with her - she too should be ready to go over the Festive period. Cloonacool will be aimed at Ludlow on the 20th, with Kaloci, who is now fully subscribed heading to Fakenham on the 19th. Thanks again to all the staff at Stuarts for getting the horses out in all weathers, without them we wouldn't be going anywhere!!
