Wednesday 28 February

Fortunately,The Beast From The East delayed it's arrival, and we had a terrific morning at Fences Farm yesterday, with clients, Neil and Liane, and their friends Chris and Gayle. Neil and Liane purchased a share in Classic Ben last summer, and at Stuart Edmunds' Open Day in September, they took the plunge and purchased the then 2 yr old called Sumu, that we had on sale. Since then Sumu has turned 3, and has had a change of name - he is now San Seb, but no one has changed their opinions of him - we all think he is a lovely horse, and he has been cantering for a few weeks. He is a big athletic horse, with a fine pedigree, and he will spend another few weeks at Fences Farm before heading off on his summer holidays. he will not be running this spring, but will be aimed at Junior Bumpers in the Autumn. A really enjoyable morning, and thanks to Neil who also bought lunch!! The aforemationed Beast From The East looks like playing havoc with our plans later this week. Molly Childers has had one targte for a good while - the 3 mile Listed mares Novices hurdle in Doncaster on Saturday, but theor meeting looks 'at risk'. I spoke to the Clerk Of The Course yesterday afternoon, and asked if there is any chance of the Saturday card being rescheduled, as it also features a big Grand National trial in The Grimthorpe Chase - he is asking the questions. It looks unlikely that they will run there on Friday as well, which puts paid to Kaloci plans - we will look forward for her. Pull Together also has an entry there on Saturday, but he is unlikely to run there even if it is on - he has a further entry in Lingfield on Monday - but that could be in danger of being off due to forecast heavy rain! One thing for sure - we can't change the weather, we just have to adjust plans around it. Classic Ben heads straight to Haydock on Easter Saturday, Queenohearts to Sandown on March 10th. Land League is very close to aa return, but will wait for better ground, Chandos Belle will be out again in 10-14 days - with the option of Huntingdon on March 14th. Sneaking Budge is cantering, and in good form, his fitness will be built back up, and we will find a race for him in 3-4 weeks. Shares are selling well in the new filly who is being broken in at the moment. She is a half sister to our own little superstar Kaloci, and looks to have all of her 'big' sisters tough attitude. nickbrownracing@gmail if you would like to register your interest. Shares are priced at £400 each, with just £8/week keep costs until July 1st, when she returns to full training, and they will go up to the standard all inclusive rate of £110/month.
