A good day yesterday, with all four runner from the Edmunds yard running well. Of ours - Pull Together ran another fine race to be second in Lingfield. His third second placing in his last 3 runs, but he is as genuine as the day is long, and just ran into one yesterday! We will see how he is in around a month, and see if he runs again. If not, he will head off for a well earned rest for the summer. All the jockeys that have ridden him say what a good chaser he will be, so we have a lot to look forward to over the summer months. Land League ran a cracking race under the circumstances to be third in Kempton. This Jumpers Bumper was the ideal chance to try him in a tongue tie, as he can be a bit funny with his head, and we didn't want him to lose concentration with a hurdle in front of him. As it happens it was just the right thing to do, as he did what we expected him to do for the first part of the race, and threw his head around. To get him to calm down Josh just took him back through the field, and then he raced properly. In doing this he found himself out of his ground, and it was always going to be tough to win from there - but he stayed on really well to finish third on his first start for a long time. He will be out again over hurdles. The other two yard runners ran well - Hillcrest Fire finishing third, and Blackbird improving on her first run to be eighth. Tomorrow Kaloci runs in Catterick - a first trip to the track for us! She need to run here to qualify for the Mares Novices Hurdle final in Newbury on the 24th, and going to this race gives her 17 days to get over it. She is a hardy tough little mite, and will run her race, although once again she has to give away her penalty for winning in Leicester, which could prove tough to do. Queenohearts is in great form, and heads to Sandown on Saturday for the Listed Mares Bumper. Her form is rock solid, and I think she will be right in the mix. With Cheltenham just around the corner - things are hotting up!! Could be a good few days!!
