Molly Childers is an intended runner in Uttoxeter on Saturday. She was a very close second in her last run in Kempton, and is working very well at home. The ground should dry to be in her favour, and in the absence of the injured Ciaran Gethings, Tom O'Brian will take the ride. We had wanted to go to Ayr for their mares staying handicap hurdle at the Scottish grand National Meeting, but she hadn't quite got over a minor cut - so we had to wait - looking forward to seeing her out again. This is likely to be her last run for the season before she goes novice chasing in the autumn. We have been busy recently - trips to Punchestown etc, but we have not been idle, and as always we keep our eyes and ears open for available equine talent. We have had great success over the last couple of seasons with the mares that we have acquired, including Listed success for Queenohearts and Maria's Benefit, along with a Listed place from Kaloci, and wins for Chandos Belle and Molly Childers - so we do like a good mare - and we think that this young lady is a very exciting addition and represents excellent value in todays market. With the upturn in the weather Stuart will look to get a host of horses out in the field for their summer holidays. They have all been marking time on the walker for a couple of weeks, and it will be a great relief to them and the staff to have them out in the field. The mares will go to The Elms Stud, and the geldings will stay at Fences Farm. Getaway Mixie will be able to join her friends a little later, as she is recovering really well, although she is still in the vets. She should be back very soon. The shares in Lion Rouge have been going very fast, and only a very few now remain. he works very nicely, and will be making his UK debut in a couple of weeks.
