It has been a superb couple of weeks! The annual trip to the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale was, as always a good few days - plenty of lovely horses to view, and plenty if fun to be had. Back home for a day last Saturday, before heading over to Deauville a day later for the Arqana Summer Sale. Deauville is the most beautiful town on the coast of Normandie, and one of my favourite places on the sales circuit to visit. We got nothing bought, but it was a good chance to discuss future business and enjoy the very very hot weather. We arrived back last night, and today will be spent catching up with most of the jobs that were pencilled in for June! We didn't manage to get any horses bought, but that doesn't mean that business wasn't done! We secured a lovely filly for new clients that has gone into training with Dan Skelton - we wish her new connections the very best of luck with her - an 8 length winner of her only start in Irish Points, she is out of a Punchestown Festival winner, and looks to have a really nice future in the UK under rules. We wish her new connections the very best of luck with her! With the start of July, comes the steady return of some of the horses. Those that are seen to better effect on a sounder surface come back in a week or two earlier than those that need soft ground, so that they can benefit from the autumn ground. Those that have returned to their stables are Molly Childers, Classic Ben, San Seb, and Maria's Benefit. Some of the new horses will return in the middle of the month - including the stunning Our Bubba, who is FOR SALE!, and Go Millie Go. It was good to see GMG getting a form boost yesterday, when the mare that beat her in her final point to point start was second in an above average looking mares bumper in Worcester. The winner, a JP McManus owned daughter of Presenting, out of a half sister to Yanworth, looks a solid prospect, and it really puts a solid look to GMG's form.
