As you all know, a massive part in the process of new horses arriving at Fences Farm is JD Moore. JD is a young bloodstock agent from Naas in County Kildare in Ireland, and we have been working together for a number of years, and he would have a hand in the purchase of most of the horses that we have purchased over the course of the last 4/5 years. A brief look at our results in that time will illustrate what a good job he does - he is a tireless worker, and a really top man to have on the team. Many of you can thank JD for your trips to the winners enclosure - so it is now time to repay him for all of his work over the years. Late last year - after one too many beers in Newmarket - JD agreed to sign up for the Mongolian Derby - THE toughest multi horse race in the world. This event takes place in August, and involves riding barely broken mongolian ponies 1000km across the vast wilderness of the country. It is a race that few are mad (brave) enough to sign up for, and even fewer complete. It is a massive undertaking - and JD is doing it in the aid of a couple of charities including the Irish Injured Jockeys fund. He is still looking for donations before he sets off next month, and I have promised him I would spread the word. Donations can be made via his Gofundme page - https://www.gofundme.com/mongolian-derby-2018 I did suggest he would get more money if he promised not to come back!! Please help out if you can - it is a massive thing for him to do, and I am sure his stubborn streak will see him through - and we wish him the very best of luck with his venture.
