It is always nice to meet new members, and yesterday we met Gareth and John for the first time after they made the long trip down from Yorkshire to see their new horse 'Lily', the half sister to Kaloci, who has started her exercise regime to get rid of the weight she has put on over the summer - she certainly is the polar opposite of her half sister, who it is always a struggle to keep weight on. They were joined by John, Danny, Paul David and Buff who all made slightly shorter trips to see their horses. It was good to get a visit in before the rain, which fell in very welcome bucket loads last night! Thanks to Stuart who held back some of the more forward horses to third lot so that we could see them canter. Out in this group were Molly Childers, San Seb, Classic Ben and Maria's Benefit. I have to say - all the horses look fantastic. Non more so than miracle girl Getaway Mixie, who has regained all the weight she lost after her scrape with death, and has a gleaming coat. Stuart is delighted with her and she has also started cantering. All of the horses are now back in work - Queenohearts and Kaloci cam in with the last group, and were shod yesterday before starting work. Pull Together is also back in his box and like the rest looks fab. Land League has been in ridden work for a few weeks - good to see him back after his injury in the spring. Go Millie Go managed to get a foreign body embedded in her hock which became very inflamed late last week. The vet did a fantastic job in firstly finding it, and then removing it, but in doing so he caused quite a wound that will take a couple of weeks to heal. We have had a few enquiries for available shares in the last few days, as the season draws ever closer, which means that availability is becoming tight.
