Sunday 30 September

Sun out, and a fair few faces into Fences Farm yesterday. Good to see Chris and Sarah, who popped in to see their girl Go Millie Go. GMG has been on the easy list for a few weeks, after a couple of self harming episodes! She is back on the walker now, and will be ridden again on Monday. Sue and Mel were in to see 'Lily', along with Chris, Bob and Ann. The lovely little filly - a half sister to our other pocket rocket, Kaloci, is such a likeable little lass - she just puts a smile on everyone's face! Yesterday she was asked to just whizz off the top for a few furlongs with the impressive San Seb. It was the first time she had done this, and was not sure of what to do for the first few strides, but when the penny dropped, just like she does with everything else in life, she just got on with it, and put in a mightily impressive piece of work. She looks to have all the family attributes, and we are all looking forward to getting going with her very soon. The votes are being cast for her official name, and by tomorrow her passport will be winging it's way to Weatherbys to be amended to include her racing name! There are still a couple of shares left in her - get in touch if you would like to get involved - she will be running later on in October. Yesterdays work saw Ciaran ride Classic Ben in a super piece of work - he looks really well, and although we were tempted in entering him in Fontwell next Friday, he will wait for Uttoxeter a week today. Ciaran also rode San Seb, who as mentioned, breezed very well with Lily, and has an entry in Huntingdon on Thursday, although he has a low ballot mark, and needs a bit of luck to get in the race. Molly Childers worked really well with Maria's Benefit, and her chasing debut is getting ever nearer. In the following group, Pull Together slipped on in his group, which included Queenohearts. Both looked in fine form, with PT catching the eye in particular! Our Bubba also got to go a bit quicker and continues to impress. OB is now sold, he will run for a new partnership - The Sharnbrook Partnership, and we wish his new owners, Colin and John, the very best of luck with this lovely prospect! After a quick cuppa, Paul (who had been in to see Maria work) and I headed up to Market Rasen to see the yards two runners in action. Theclockisticking ran a really brave race to be flat out all the way in the Listed Prelude hurdle, yet toughed it out to finish a very game second. Havana Hermano was beaten 11 lengths in the bumper having travelled really well, just immaturity and strength finding him out in the last furlong. Things are really hotting up now, and fun times are very nearly here!!
