Wednesday 3 October

I have sad news to pass on - sadly, over the course of the weekend, Peter Robeson, aka 'The Boss' passed away peacefully at home. His passing is the end of an era - he, along with Mrs Robeson were the driving force, and inspiration for the current set up at Fences Farm, and since the passing of his wife three and a half years ago, The Boss has been ever present around the yard. We will all remember him as he walked around the yard, casting his eye over every horse as he went, always keen to share a story to whomever may be there to listen, and a cigarette with those that smoked. We will all miss him, and pass on our condolences to his family and those that were close to him. RIP. The Edmunds team will be busy tomorrow, with three declared over two meetings. Maria's Benefit gets the show underway in Warwick where she makes her chasing debut. She has schooled well, and Ciaran rides. He will make a quick departure after the race to rush to Huntingdon where he is booked to ride San Seb in the concluding bumper. San Seb will be the first runner for clients Riverport Racehorse Association, a syndicate formed by St Ives businessman Neil Greatorex after he purchased SS from me as a 2 yr old last year. this race has been the plan since I bought the horse as a yearling, and it will be a dream come true for his local owners if he can get his head in front tomorrow. Recent winner Hepijeu contests the staying handicap hurdle on the card under Josh Moore - and we wish his connections the very best of luck.
